So I plugged the adapter that was not immediately recognized. the adapter must be connected directly to the PC and not via a HUB.
Then you have proceeded as follows ... well that's how it worked with me.
- Turn on the printer.
- Connect the existing parallel cable.
- Connect the adapter to the parallel printer cable.
- Finally plug the USB side adapter on the motherboard.
- Normally the adapter will be recognized on Windows 7. "reboot" might however be necessary.
- Install a printer manually in Windows. (For Laserjet 1100, look for drivers in "windows update".)
- When manually installing the printer select the USB001 port is available ... If it's not create a USB001 port manually.
- Again, a "reboot" might be needed.
- Finally print a test page ...
With me it did not work the first time because I did not really know how to do it ...
But eventually I was able to print.
Well, I hope that this sharing of experience can help you ...
