I remember this afternoon snowy when I was 17. At the time I was listening to punk surout, for power and savagery, and now a friend laughed in my face and propose to listen to a disc which, according to him, is beyond anything I could imagine until there. And go to the intro of Speed King: the slap! The wall of sound in the figure. It was, I think, one of the musical revelations that opened the doors of rock, hard rock and everything else (even drum and bass, electro, everything!). This blend of power and finesse, big sound and subtlety is unstoppable. The keyboard-guitar duets are divine (the heyday Lord-Blackmore) and the Child in Time guitar solo is ... how to say? HUGE! This album has helped to change the rock to make it a constantly changing music. One can not underestimate its influence on everything that was done then.
