Many lamps that are currently trying to replace the traditional light bulb, have unfortunately quite unpleasant light colors or are simply impractical - to cool white to greenish, too dark, too long start after switching on. I have tried many different bulb types and so far I liked halogen bulbs best because they are the traditional light bulb closest. Unfortunately, I have in the apartment no dimmer switch so that "a" or "out" was the only decision I could make.
With Hue there are now many situation-adapted nuances. The app comes with various light recipes like "concentration" or "recharge your batteries", but also allows lighting moods own favorite photos and included sample photos "replicate".
Many other gimmicks are possible: From gentle light alarm in the morning on the location-independent lighting control (to simulate presence) and the somewhat sinister Geofencing (Hue switched before as a precaution on the lights if you look at his home approaches) to the disco light matching of played Music. The open app concept also allows for third-party apps.
What I did not like:
- Cable clutter
The Hue Bridge requires a LAN connection, wireless connection to the router of the home network is not possible.
- Socket sizes
Would be helpful additional bulbs with E14 base, because especially in ornamental lamps table and adjust the thick E27 bulbs not (if you can try, to make do with base adapters).
- Fiepen
Even if bulbs do not light just enter standby from partially a high frequency Fiepston.
- Hue and Ambilight
The possibility of the Philips Ambilight from expanding television on the Hue lights, has not worked for me. Despite vorhandemen joint space on my smart TV device six months is simply too old to be compatible with Hue (a software update for the TV would do it for sure, but the published Philips not).
- Hue and LivingColors
LivingColors lamps are the first generation with the hue app not compatible (for all subsequent versions can be found on the internet tutorials for joining).
- Price
I find the price of the starter pack quite lush and had the impression that price and performance are not, despite some innovative options in the right proportion.
Welcome to this review: I was allowed Philips hue test free during a mouth advertising project.
