I bought the battery grip:
- Haptic
- Portrait photograph.
To me it was mainly about the haptics at vertical but also about the me the grip then does not break when the camera with a heavier lens without lens clamp (such as Nikon 17-50 2.8 or 24-120 F4) and the SB-900 then crashing to the floor only because I wanted to save me money. Here it's all about a higher amount.
After a few days use, in about 4 hours Christkindlmarkt on SunSniper, and at yesterday's meeting of more than 5 hours (only in the hand without belt), I can say I do not want to miss the handle. When I give the handle down, my camera is too small in front (for example like taking a D3100 and D300s in a hand). Moreover, it is for the portrait photograph simply a must.
The only gripe I have is the 8-way switch, ie to determine the focal point, which is something I too lax and inaccurate. I suppose that I will also get used to it yet.
For me, the BG (battery grip) was worth every euro and I'm going to have bought a replica Lucky me.
