I am a layman and can not judge how a virus software should work. But I use Norton Internet Security for many years and never had any problems. From time to time comes a warning or an intervention of the software, but usually goes away without any problem for the user. Meanwhile, Norton also has a decent account management where you can delete discarded PC's and can transfer the account. I am happy.
