I absolutely love Jim Harrison who knows lead us into compelling stories with complex and engaging characters. I expected a lot from this book. Much of this story between a mature man who doubts his life and a young woman at the start of his, full of dreams. If the style is still there, I was disappointed with the treatment of the characters. I think Jim Harrison could have added the personality of the young woman and her relationship with her teacher. Unfortunately, he chose to present it as a scatterbrained young nymphomaniac, a young problem. Finally, it comes down to a simple story of debauchery. An "error of judgment" and treated quickly with the result (too fast too) to return the teacher to his companion. It's a shame. Really.
I advise to read it, but I much prefer him Dalva and autumn legends.
