Real Tone Cable:
The game works only with the proprietary USB cable from the house Ubisoft, other USB interfaces are neither recognized nor supported in the game. Individually suggests the cable to book with a little over 30, which is about the price of one of my earlier Interfaces by Behringer (UCG 102). This was rather low-end, but did the trick with good sound and low latency. The Real Tone Cable fulfilled only partially. Latencies are always present, can be in the gaming software does not eliminate, most of about half a second when set at factory level 4 on a quarter second at setting level 2 does not just sound like a lot, is also clearly visible. My current interface from Native Instruments as well as the earlier of Behringer here were not wahrmnehmbaren 4 ms - but with ASIO4ALL as a driver that does not support the RT cable. For sound quality there is little to say, the cable only works in Rocksmith, there the sound fits well with the playback. In GuitarRig 5 or Overloud TH2 no comparison to other interfaces can generate absence ASIO support.
Software:
The actual game you realize the console character in the menus to arg, intuitive control with the mouse is different, setting the USB interface is examined, apart from a latency controller, in vain. This is, as already written, the factory at level 4, the latency decreases with the number. The smallest adjustment was here 2 what the latency largely reduced, but not completely. Step 1 did not work, since all sound distorted spending, including the language.
Playful, the whole is simple and functional, you have to hit the correct string in the correct fret when the "Note" a mark applies. To the extent that would be ok, the latencies have to hit these, however, when the playback is not yet arrived at this point. A real sense of timing you so's certainly not getting.
Tuning the guitar works. The here partly called upset after using the internal tuner I can not confirm, a tuned in play on standard E-tuning guitar pointed this also on an external tuner type Boss Tu-80, the difference was minimal and not worth mentioning.
Conclusion:
The idea compared to Guitar Hero with a real guitar to strum through a game is very tempting to run is questionable. Binding to a proprietary interface would be ok, at least for less half-hearted design. In the present form of the game is not really playable, thanks Account bond at UPlay and Steam but also no longer sellable. Thank you Ubisoft, after the settlers-7-time online letdown now definitely my last slip-up to this Publisher.
