I use the UV filter as a lens protector. + Good mechanical quality and cleaner processing + With no appreciable loss of light. With / without filter the Automatic selects the same shutter speed at a fixed aperture and ISO. - The use of the filter can in unfavorable lighting conditions result in minor Lensflare effects. Whether the problem would occur with higher-quality filters with better remuneration, I can not judge.
For over 25 years I use Hama products in the photo area and have never experienced any "failure" with it.
