The Fujinon XF 18mm F2 R is my second lens for X-E2. My "Always-on" is "50", that is wg. Crops of 1,5er the Fujinon 35mm, 1: 1.4, which I like very exceptionally well.
Upwardly I use a 85mm Canon FD Lens with Aperture 1.2, which is connected by an adapter ring and offers a very good image quality at very shallow depth of field. However, it also carries quite a glass block around with you. The everyday usability is so low.
When looking for a wide-angle I had the following consideration: The 14er was too short to me. The particular aesthetics of the ultra-wide angle is always nice. I do not exclude that I 14er sometime DETERMINED me. For everyday wear, the lens is for me but only partially usable. I needed a "use lens" that completes the "50" at the bottom.
The "35er", so the Fujinon XF 23mm 1.4 was too close to the "50" turn it. Drum was the logical idea, in my view, to choose the "28" it.
Fortunately, I have not regretted the purchase, but've been using for the first downright enthusiastic.
The lens is encouraging small and light. It has a metal lens hood and provides a snappy autofocus. The depth of field at full aperture and adheres short distances within limits, which was only to be expected.
The picture quality is very good though. At the X-E2 there is nothing to complain about even at high magnifications. No color bleeding or other artifacts, uniform sharpness up to the edge and in a very acceptable level even at maximum aperture. A really good usable lens.
The lens is not cheap with 554 Euro. However, it is made of high quality and therefore fully convinced also that the value for money in terms completely. Therefore 5 stars.

On the advice of a friendly user I "Focus" to "depth of field" replaced. Thanks again.
