Ideal for retro fans and purists!

Having been the Polaroid Z2300 Instant Camera may call my own, I wanted to compare the sake possess the (supposedly) better and significantly cheaper competition from Fuji. So I bought for the price of just 90, the Fujifilm Instax 210 and 4 Filmkasetten a 10 images. My review for Polaroid Z2300 was first mixed in, after some setting changes and settling my impression improved, and I finally came to the conclusion that (at great expense) gets a very solid entry-level camera that can print as icing business card great pictures. Compared to expensive compact cameras and DSLRs, the Polaroid cuts logically from weak, it is more of a fun product for colorful evenings.

In order not to make the same mistake a false review as the Z2300 again, I was waiting here for the review of the Instax 210 aware of a few days, until I fully controlling the camera and doing now for both camera a larger, comparative review:

Price and service:

Instax 210: 60 for the camera and about 17 to 20 images - perfectly okay! When you come to an impressive 180 Z2300 cost of the camera and 10-15 for 20 (very small) images. Thumbs up for the Fujifilm, this only costs a third of the price of the Polaroid. Nevertheless, one has to think carefully about 210, because press once and already has gone a Euro each portrait at the Instax. Here you can simply turn on and off flash, focus from 0 to 3 and 3 to infinity Set meters and receives the remaining number of images in the cassette shown, that's it. Polaroids Z2300 can store 12 megapixel images as a conventional compact camera to SD card and you can later decide what you want just like print. In addition, there are countless menu items for exact adjustment of the camera, various filters are available and it even takes on useful HD video at 720p and 25 fps. Whether that nevertheless the 180 warrants to be seen. After all, you get a fully functional compact camera that can provide additional print in the end.

Processing:

Very good at Fujifilm! I find the Amazon product images describe in any way the yet surprisingly high quality and stable processing of the unfortunately very thick plastic Bombers Instax 210, here I was really pleasantly surprised, especially the cover for the Bildkasette is very stable. Although the Z2300 comes with more metal, this appears in the direct comparison to the 210 "rickety", which is due not least to the cover for the shaky images. Buttons on the 210 are nicely incorporated, everything is tight and makes a high impression. Also Polaroids Z2300 is otherwise processed dibasic. Retro look both instant cameras from definitely, although I personally Z2300 just a tad bit iconic feel, due to the angular design and the colorful stripes on the front, but that may be a matter of taste.
Point for Fujifilm!
Mobility: Unlike for Z2300, which still fits well even with optional Neoprene Case in a jacket pocket, the Instax 210 has to be taken in any case in their hands or in the backpack. Here, the relatively low weight of the enormous dimensions is positive, rather negative. However, one must keep in mind that the images are also twice as large in size as Polaroids Z2300 always in mind.

Image Quality:

Most importantly, the quality of images. Here you have several things, however, are fundamentally different for a comparison with the Z2300: Polaroid uses the novel zinc technology, Fujifilm on the classic "chemical variant". Here both technologies different advantages and disadvantages which are also manifested in the quality of the images:

- Zinc (Polaroid) is more resistant to environmental effects and fades with time supposedly less. The business card-size images which can be contacted directly by a stick adhesive backing. The term goes fast, then the images are directly visible. Allegedly waterproof coated, at least splashing the pictures can not hurt that I could test already.

- Fujifilm's version is as before: trigger, wait a few minutes and the image appears gradually. Later it darkens slightly. The printed images are somewhat "thicker" and appear more sensitive to the Polaroid Zink technology, it can describe the bottom of beautiful and they are color more natural than the zinc images.
Here's my impression of the printed images, taken with Fujifilm Instax 210:
- If you focus correctly (Watch out!) Arising out really good pictures. Colourful, sharp crack and a good size. Exceeds clearly the quality of the former, classic instant photo of Polaroid, and also the prints of the Z2300 are beaten! Indoors Unfortunately, there is often described here in other reviews problem with the flash. Although it can be said to turn off the flash makes at least with me what he wants and decides independently when it triggers. Even in well-lit rooms, the thing turns on frequently and has many a dirty image, which is why I can recommend the Instax 210 only partially in the interior, do not know if this is due to my copy or a series error. In cold places, the images also develop very slowly (longer than 10 minutes) and not as good as at temperatures above 5-10 degrees. The bottom line still remains a good impression: Sharp, colorful (for instant) and especially suitable for large photo album. Even after 40 pictures I had not yet change the 4 AA batteries.

Now Polaroid Z2300:

Polaroids Z2300 makes only half as large prints, for normal photo album too small to give away right after expression but ideal. The prints are all slightly bluish, but also good sharp. Very good, however, is that you can save the images as in a normal digicam first and printing is just a side dish later. The prints are very sensitive indeed and can be anywhere at any time to print quickly, unfortunately breaks down after only 10-15 Print the battery. Looking at the pictures on SD card on the PC, so I would at best (rough) with images of middle-class camera from 2005-2007 and 5Megapixel compare, so good, but not quite up to date. Again, there are, on the whole, but nothing to complain about, however murky frequent banding in printouts the overall impression, this is due, according to Polaroid art, and can not always be avoided.

Point for Fujifilm!

Anyone who wants a true-instant camera is 210 better off with the Fujifilm Instax. Quality and size of the images speak for themselves and we currently do not get a better product at a reasonable price. Lack of settings, the flash problem and the size of the camera tarnish the otherwise good image.
For snapshots on party nights, I recommend the Polaroid. This is simply much more versatile and acts alone optical nor a piece of iconic. One can also store its images, record videos and expedient printouts appear physically sensitive although the quality of the printouts is not quite at the Fujifilm Instax 210 rankommt.
