The kit includes all necessary parts except for the remote control (there are transmitter, receiver and a servo for steering required) and a drive battery (I have a 6 cell NiMH battery used). If you want to paint the buggy as described in the instructions, you still have to invest a little money in colors corresponding Tamiya.
The quality of the kit is very good. The parts are processed stable and precisely. The enclosed electronic speed controller with the 540 motor are fully sufficient for the beginning or even for younger drivers.
The assembly is described in the enclosed instructions well and with lots of pictures and was supposed to be to deal with some technical understanding of each. Who is not sure, the instructions should download in advance and look.
The chassis is relatively simple, the only criticisms I would have are
- That the electronic system (and also the engine) are relatively unprotected
- The accompanying shock absorber despite good greasing simply were too sluggish to me
Continue doing the small pretty good-natured. The enclosed tires is rather less suitable for smooth asphalt - the knobs on the rear tires are worn very quickly. Also the contact with water should be avoided, because as already mentioned above on the one hand, the electronics and the motor are relatively open. For unwanted contacts with obstacles at full speed or off-road driving can already times go something to break or wear out. Here then comes the advantage of kit cars to the fore: All spare parts can be ordered separately at your dealer or Internet. Thus, one can on the car have long fun.
There are plenty of tuning options to further enhance the car. (In the order as I would recommend them) are just a few:
- Other tires for smooth lines
- Oil Shocks
- Ball Bearings
- Tuning the engine (s)
Conclusion: For the price you get a well-designed, valued kit, which is quite suitable for entry into the buggy world. With the little flaws you can live or you fix by tuning parts.
