So then the K511 entered the house.
Processing, feel, appearance is better than the price suggests. There are much worse things to twice the money. And who spends less than 10 euros, not even get one third of the offered with the quality 511ern regard cable, material etc.
My "personal reference" are precisely the K272, and it would be more than unfair to compare two sets of headphones to one another, the one order of magnitude in the price are almost apart, but - Chapeau! - They have more in common than you might think!
I like "Over Ear Headphones", the model 511 is not quite as "private" as the studio class, but that's whining at a high level. What convinced me, however, is the fit and comfort, which I think is nigh very good in this price range. But this is probably more a matter of habit. I wear them for hours without even the slightest "suffer" to.
And the sound?
Oh well.
Either you know and like AKG and the "typical" AKG sound - or even not. I like him, otherwise I would not for many years only AKG headphones. I hear mostly Baroque music, Latin jazz, classical and wish for a transparent sound possible. If I want what the sound have different, then there is for an EQ. I do not want headphones that have practically been "incorporated" "Loudness" or bass hammers.
And that was actually the model 511 for me the most amazing thing: clear phrasing, good dynamics, very very acceptable response.
Home on the system it's a bit hard to take them seriously. But this fate they share with all that comes to little money into the house. ;-)
For what comes out of an iPod, the 511er are very well suited.
