COMPARISON WITH Klipsch Image S4i
Unfortunately I have (average man) well above average-sized ears, so that even the largest rubber essays of Klipsch Image S4i much too small for me. The offered there range of attachments is probably for toddlers ... The sound has not really convinced me; even as I have tested the S4i with the in-ears of my semi-professional hearing protection (who the ear canal properly closed toward the outside). Thus, the Klipsch went back to Amazon.
Then I have but then had the courage to appoint me the Ultimate Ears 400vi. Here fit me luckily the biggest rubber plugs; the selection and gradation is significantly better. The sound is really clean and balanced. The entire frequency spectrum is well displayed; the highs could be a little clearer.
The positioning of the microphone and the wired remote control is better than the Klipsch Image S4i in the UE 400vi.
GENERAL REVIEW OF THE UE 400vi
Of course, the sound can not be compared with Studio headphones or studio monitors but for such purposes the UE 400vi were not even built. The insulation against ambient noise is excellent! Also the comfort is good.
The wired remote control does its purpose, but feels quite spongy; because I have my speakers (unfortunately) be right.
Even the cable is not perfect: For every head movement can hear friction noise. This problem can be resolved using the supplied mini-clip which can be attached at any point of the cable to happiness. I have this fixed about halfway between the Y-piece and the cable remote control with microphone. The clip can be the cable to the clothes fixed, so not all of the cable is moved and not directly concern the taut line to the in-ears.
The micro is the way in the middle of the piece of cable that leads to the right in-ear plug.
CONCLUSION
I am happy. The UE 400vi I think is better than the Klipsch Image S4i.
Again briefly PRO (+) and CON (-) of this product:
- Cable noise
- Spongy wired remote control
+ Good fit
+ Clean sound
+ Good attenuation of ambient noise
