I chose this USB-Parallel cable in the light of comments already posted. Indeed, nothing simpler in Win 7 with an old HP LaserJet printer 4Plus. It connects the two cable ports, we light the printer. First, Win 7 detects the IEEE-1284 controller and adds the devices, all in background task. Secondly, like that old printer model is not plug-and-play, add the printer manually in Devices-Add Printer, and choose not LPT1: by default, but the USB001: (Virtual Port USB to print), click Scan for internet printers, to find the HP LaserJet 4 plus model, because by default it is not present in the database list, and then click Install . That's it, print the test page for confirmation and thus have the files added during the installation. Do not panic with the document supplied with the cable because it does not indicate Win 7, Win 8 and HP LaserJet 4 plus compatible products, it still works perfectly. In addition the cable has a robust appearance.
