I changed from the K700i, when the so slowly the joystick was weak and which lack (handwritten) upgradeability no fun made (Bluetooth faulty and answer delayed).
The C510 is nice and light, very flat and fits comfortably in your hand. The service is good as usual.
The battery I have the same after inserting about 5 hours charged (after 2.5 hours which comes "full" message "). Already moment during which I extensively tuned rumgefummelt attempts. After one and a half days of continuous operation now (try, set up, take pictures, Bluetooth constantly on) is missing in the battery indicator is now about one-fifth. Seems to be very good.
Nice large screen, good resolution, clear and bright.
The jostle down acting buttons are surprisingly easy to operate. The quality is perfect, nothing creaks or wobbles. How long does the optics cover, remains to be seen, but also makes a solid impression.
Connection quality and speech intelligibility as I feel good, I have a Sim from Alice (ie O2 network). Speakerphone sounds good after the first attempt, but I was using the speakerphone via Bluetooth with my Garmin GPS, which works flawlessly.
With the supplied software and the USB cable, all settings can easily back up and exchange data with the PC.
I have downloaded the free software "MyPhoneExplorer" with which I sync my address book from Thunderbird and Sunbird from my calendar with the C510. Works flawlessly.
To my headline: phototechnically would have been well to the comparatively low price in my opinion more in it. Sharp and true-color images are hardly hinzubekommen. The lamp is also suitable for taking pictures. Take time a little picture in the meantime, if you forgot its compact again, but is certainly much better than with my ollen K700i.
In Movie Mode (abysmal quality) you can bring the lamp at least for continuous illumination and so has a prima flashlight for emergencies.
The radio has a great reception here in Hamburg and the sound is good. Is of course only with the accompanying headphones, because otherwise there is no antenna there. Then you can redirect the sound on the telephone speaker what sound is also good.
Finally, I can also set your own sound for SMS messages not received by the K700i.
The Internet speed I find super fast, but am not very spoiled by my old phone.
If only I had to try this device now, then I would buy it without hesitation. Top mobile for me. The fifth star would be there for a better camera.
Addendum July 2009
Be careful when firmware update. All settings are reset, including access to email, Internet, etc. Profiles are also back to factory setting. All other data are partly filled quickly with MyPhoneExplorer or the Sony tool. Have so far seen no way how I can save profiles and additions.
For me, the update has been worthwhile because now the calendar is no longer the rich all-day entries to the following day.
January 2010
Are the latest version of Thunderbird has MyPhoneExplorer difficulties with the Synch. Is hopefully as soon an update.
Property me the way once bought for 'n Appel and' n egg an adapter to use normal headphones. Super thing, especially as the short Strippchen funzt as a radio antenna, I need to listen to the radio via the phone speaker is no longer the long dranzubaumeln Sony earphones Trippe.
