The recording from 1996 must, of course the comparison with the original 1970 put up - and intersects worse. The musical staging from 1996 like it much better. The sound is arranged modern and varied and "remastered edition" the quality is very good (for this is the CD a lot more expensive ..).
Getting used to the singer. Judas has a deeper voice, but sings with lots of emotion and after a while you get used to him. Jesus on the other hand I did not like, it lacks in the decisive moments the expressiveness. I was reminiscent of one of the today so popular talent shows. Ambitious and vocally perfect, but to gelättet. For Mary Magdalene is considered almost the same. Her voice is clear, but does not bring over the emotions. Alice Cooper's performance is funny, the other supporting actors fall off a bit.
The original is simply unique and belongs in the collection of every fan. The recording from 1996 is bad in any way and has its own highlights. She makes herself quite well in the home stereo system (especially when high turn up the volume) but unfortunately achieved, with the exception of Judas, not the vocal intensity.
