Although Sony offers a repair action, but I will buy but no camera, so I can send it in for repair on the first day. Normally Sony should recall these cameras.
After my huge disappointment of the HX9V (super video, bad photos) now comes this (super photos, videos unusable).
The photos actually know to impress. If the videos are absolutely irrelevant, then you should resort to the Nex 5N. All others I advise to leave it alone.
Edit: My rating also takes into account the support of Sony. I would now be able to live with the fact that the camera is repaired. When I called the recommended by the Sony Support Service Center, they told me that the repair would take 3 weeks. This is too much. I buy no camera at the high price that I have to send the first day for the repair and that I can operate only in 3 weeks. The camera is ready to go back. My decision: When I announced Sony, as I get a flawless camera, then I'm going to buy this in any case. Then the assessment goes up to the maximum. Until then it was a bought camera that I did not keep due to serious standard defect.
By the way, the error one can already recognize the purchase. Just hold the camera horizontally to the ear and easy links tend / right. Drin in the housing moves something that is silent to hear and makes naturally felt a bit noisy in the video at the extreme proximity to the microphone. Today I was in the Saturn, because I want to have this camera definitely, and have times with the seller, the local copies checked. All 4 overlapping cameras had the defect. The seller was naturally acidic and the cameras return it to Sony. I hope that as a result some positive results, namely that at last functioning devices come on the market.
Edit (6 weeks later): Have the camera finally get in a nearly error-free version. The bad news: The click is still present, even louder than my previous camera. The good news: It only occurs when I rotate the camera 45 degrees to the right, I'll never make the films. Normal panning trigger no clicking sound. I can live with that. I think that Sony this shortcoming so that means when they say that they only reduce the clicking sound, but can not completely eliminate. From the camera is not much to say except that the picture is fantastic. I'm Photography layman. I had only Point & Shoot cameras but was zunehmends no longer satisfied with the quality and wanted something better. For example, the HX9V, HX100V, TX100V all suffer from an aggressive compression, which makes the images on closer inspection absolutely unattractive and a disgrace to the brand "Sony" is. Therefore, I am moving to the next alternative, the NEX. I can only recommend the camera to anyone who wants to take something "more portable" on the journey and not necessarily need an SLR camera. What I do not like is the service. That starts with the on / off switch. The other buttons are also not exactly comfortable. A separate dial for adjusting the functions iAuto / S / A / P / ... would have been beneficial. This one has probably been saving for the NEX-7, to create a distance pricing here. But there's 1 point deduction. Anyway, for me the true price / performance ratio. Mainly counts for me is the end result, that is the quality of photos and videos. And that, I'm thrilled.
Edit (1 week later with the new NEX-5N): I wanted to shoot a video next to a few pictures today. First I added 4 minutes and then a few photos shot. After that I added two minutes video and in the best moment, the camera stopped and it appeared a message on the screen that the camera is overheating and I should let it cool. Overheated at 3 degrees outside. I do not want to imagine how it will be in the summer to me. I've had enough now. The camera gets 1 star again. Those looking for something reliable, you should resort to another brand.
