Dead Lord: This is a Swedish band that emulates on their debut "Goodbye Repentance" quite formidable Thin Lizzy. Probably the quartet has also recorded in Dublin album therefore. In classic LP-style's are eight pieces in around 40 minutes. "Well stolen is done better than bad self", the Swedes will have thought. Thus reminded almost every note of Thin Lizzy from the 70s, and the sound would fit well in that time. The songs are purely instrumental all hit, be it the catchy "Hammer To The Heart" or the slow, bluesy "No More Excuses". Only the voice does not remember Phil Lynott. This in itself is not the problem, but rather this: Hakim Crimea sings places too whiny. Too bad, without this shortcoming would probably have scored a full five stars. Thus have among Lizzy epigones the Black Star Riders (with Scott Gorham on guitar and Ricky Warwick on vocals) with their latest album "The Killer Instinct" in the lead.
