Eigentich shame because the handling and adjustability of the stylus 1 is really exemplary. Also the viewfinder is excellent. From the Operation ago, it is a joy to take pictures with the stylus. And in good light are also very good pictures out of the box, if you are not too strong rotating the zoom lever. But in good weather, the significantly cheaper compact cameras can equally. For example, to see to my eye at all no difference in image quality compared to the Canon SX270. And currently priced at Amazon only around a quarter and even more wide-angle (25mm) and longer telephoto (500mm) while pocketable.
(Those who wish to obtain an objective view, can view on dkamera.de among image quality, the results in various ISO levels and compare directly with other cameras)
The situations where the continuous shutter 2.8er then actually benefit, are manageable because of the comparison is still very small sensor of the Stylus-1. And for this small advantage is 600 euros simply too expensive, despite the great usability. For significantly less than 400 euros, the camera would be worth maybe 4 stars. But ... I have sent back.
Addendum: I had to test the Pentax-MX1 extensively the last day opportunity. Although the same "small" 1 / 1.7 sensor is installed, the Pentax delivers compared to the Stylus 1 from a clearly better BQ, both in terms of clarity and brilliance of the images at low ISOs, as well as the noise performance at higher ISOs. To rule out that I had caught only a Monday model of Stylus, I compared the times BQ on dkamera.de both with the stylus 1 and with the XZ2. Is worthwhile to look at it. Apparently, it creates Pentax, more out of the small sensor and the lens seems better reflect, in both JPEG and Raw visible. In this respect, I have my general statement to the small sensors but relativize something.
