Customer Review

This, actually not so planned album is the last regular studio album by Rio Reiser and it is worth discovering. After major successes late 80s were the albums ambitious and more uncomfortable, less "Pop-compatible" and probably therefore less successful. It was supposed to just "dreams" are recorded for a movie (a highlight on the album and the song that defines the bleak melancholy mood), but then it was a complete album. The music has consistently melancholy and even slightly cheerful acting Songs (earthquakes) are textually no light and no cheerful fare. Songs such as "The boy on the river" or "Eislied" require proper to be heard more than once and it should get involved. Many of the songs are with each listen complex and intoxicating. It is an album that you have to get involved as a listener, but then it seems a long time. It is the unwanted farewell album and it's a very strong finish. I highly recommend it.
