Of course, I realized that the Bridge format per se weaknesses: the small sensors are faint by the Bank across all manufacturers. Well - so no interior shots, do not use high ISO values. Alright - I simply search huge focal length, like only in good weather and plenty of light.
Actually I also wanted only a slight addition to my Sony RX 100. This makes a great job, is light strong and has a great sensor, the lens is only to 100mm (equivalent to KB-format). The HX 300 should therefore at best conditions range at least for the things that are farther away. I also have extensive DSLR equipment - but made 100 best experiences with the autofocus of Sony RX. So I'm after some Recherchern come to the HX 300 due to the technical parameters. Just the whole camera with their 1200mm focal length would be easier than a 200mm lens for DSLR, not even counting the heavy body. In addition, the HX 300 100 was still fit next to the RX in the notebook case. The DSLR contrast erfordet a second hand baggage and therefore separates when traveling by air (in the case I do not pack anything.)

I do not write it here, because I want to knock Sony in the pan (especially as I am very pleased with the RX 100 - could my DSLR with its autofocus quite skillfully on several occasions to replace). On the contrary, I would have very much wished that I can use the HX300 least with the known limitations. Unfortunately, I was out of the machine get really nothing useful at all. What's useful for me: results that I can due to the technical quality (for which I am responsible content) submit and offer for stock agencies.
So now I have not provoked the advertising promises with the miracle-stabilization to the limit. But: Given enough light, or with a sufficiently long exposure time with tripod the device provided really light tasks.
Result: shocking!
These pictures and the videos I need to submit to any Agency - which is just as well: the only complaints would be.
The problem is that the image compression leads consistently to ugly artifacts (looks like streaks) - both in the hottest places and in the blurring. The video files look sometimes so rough surface, as if I had a "time" effect applied.
Strictly speaking, there is thus no real focus. However, there are an infinite number of error details, the first look at first glance or on the small screen as sharpness. The usual transition to the uncertainty - as for portraits - does not lead to blur rings and called Bokeh but simply to more streaks.. Simply view the images at 100% size times. I have experimented with the (few) settings for sharpness and noise reduction, and really can not find anything that these problems effectively reduced.
Technically creates a file size that makes one believe that many image details have been included because of the many errors details. As with much noisy images (which from a technical standpoint, of course, already a lot of information include) But is that no image information but just a high percentage of errors (the cost also space of course). The useful information is, in my estimation at barely 10 Mpixel (at least well below the 12 Mpixel my old Panasonic GH1). Payload - so colors and details that contains about a daisy - are hardly taken, hardly texture or depth (yes - even at ISO 80, sunshine and tripod, and 2 second self-timer to eliminate even the camera shake when pressing the shutter button!). Put simply arise framed areas that apparently imagines the camera as she wants - but not with what is in front of the lens.
The result looks as if Photoshop beginners overdo mercilessly on contrast and sharpness controls. Here arise such halo effects and texture and edge errors. I suspect, therefore, that it is even more problems than the software to the optics or the sensor. Apparently the manufacturer has simply deposited a few too extreme settings when you save as jpg. In the video recording of the stabilizer initially provides fantastically smooth movement.
But no matter: there one does not reach RAWs, the same can not correct and produce such as jpgs own - you only get this botched JPG images. Same goes for the video: if you look at the movies on large displays
This image quality is really only bearable
- If you the images in any case only on the camera screen
or looks at a small monitor
- If the background for its part has a structure that is not readily apparent
Then, these phenomena do not fall on.
In short:
- Miserable photo quality
- Miserable Video Quality
- No settings possible, improve it
- No RAW
In addition:
- Poor support from third-party
- No remote connectivity using smartphones
While you get for devices from other manufacturers favorable great remote release, timer remote shutter, etc., Sony has once built something original again. Instead of going for about 25 euros a type jack Buchs there is either a USB solution including tripod for 129 Euro or the control panel individually for 69 euros. The latter can then - lt accompanying -. But no video recording start. So useless: my goal is in such a remote triggering yes, that I just do not have to cut away the jitters from the button at the beginning and at the end with each video.
For other vendors like Canon or Nikon, there are even smartphone apps that allow all the function of iPhones or Androids from remotely control to let even the focus in the video followed by the finger on the tablet during recording along.
Even if the above errors would not show the absence of such support, the Sony has hardly intended to professional users.
But even with such support, I would have returned on available image quality. What I have done. Dear me but would have been that the thing would have just made acceptable images.
As evidence I once just set one of these streaks images here. And a comparison image with an older Canon EOS camera, which is inferior technically with its 18 megapixels in ideal lighting conditions so actually the Sony to 2 Mpixel resolution.
To Fairnis I have used an expensive Canon L lens, but an ancient Nikon f3.5 m. 55mm from the 70 (bought on eBay for less than 100 euros and mounted with a Nikon to EOS adapter to the Canon-Body).
If Sony alter the firmware something I would look at that machine possibly even again. I can imagine that even a lower image compression could solve the massive problems to me.
