The Hunger Games (Paperback)

Customer Review

The hunger games is falsely regarded as a trilogy for teens on the principle that the main heroes are teenagers. I contest this view, it is far from twilight or harry potter. Certainly, it is teenagers, we are treated to a love triangle and the romance, the author is quite modest (like twilight) but the comparison ends there. I even think that teens should read it with or after a preparation of multiple historical, societal references that are in this novel. The apocalyptic vision, the cynicism of this violent world, uncompromising, references to ancient rome (bread and games, names), references to totalitarian regimes, the portrayal of reality and our behavior vis-à -vis her, ..., this book is full of allusions and evocations and can be justly appreciated that when they do not know what a little barrel. Unlike twilight or harry potter, novelist spares us nothing, freedom has a price and that price is "considerable". I can not say more on this subject without giving away the plot but adults also have their place in this novel are intriguing part of the action. I highly recommend, however, allow the time needed to read because once started, you will all the trouble to leave the book. It is also a novel made for the cinema, it is a book of action! As for English, it is available and, again, the original language has a rhythm and more incisive passages that translated version. At worst, expect a dictionary but not master the language of Shakespeare I understood the essence of the trilogy. So, start the games!
