The first ice cubes are still quite pathetic, because the device has to come up to operating temperature first. Then it goes however swiftly forward and after one hour are in fact a surprising number of ice cubes ready. The cubes were tasteless from the outset. The ice cube tray itself is not cooled (isolated only with the overall equipment), so that the dice when they remain lying there too long, melt and fall back into the fresh water compartment.
Total me the operation, the speed and amount of ice cubes and also the volume (barely above a quiet, fully enclosed dishwasher) has fully convinced.
Now is the real problem and NoGo criteria ... the water outlet of the machine, as described in another review, on the underside of the unit. For this you have to know that the water must be drained off for hygienic reasons after more than 24 hours from the device, however. In addition, the device manual may LT. Not be tilted more than 45 degrees, otherwise the compressor may be damaged. If you put now the total weight of approximately 11kg ~ basis and the fact that the unit can not be tilted, degenerates the daily cleaning process of balancing. With one arm the device with its 11kg over a sink / bowl must be kept, while quasi has buttons blindfolded after the drain plug with the other hand. This was filmed, must - also flying blind - pulled the drain plug of the water and be discharged. Depending on the residual water inventory that no less than last time 30 seconds (still 11kg machine under one arm jammed) can. After all cram again, tighten and correct machine. In the alternative, one can draw the device on the work surface and forward until bottom one comes close to the drain plug ... but it does the work surface is not good and the device is already pretty bad in the balance, when the screw is accessible.
In short, super ice machine, but daily cleaning is not cope without
a) from falling down of the device,
b) damage to the compressor, or
c) scratching the underlying work surface
risking. Besides, it does the device certainly not just good to be disconnected from the power supply each day and carried through the area. Blessed is he who has the device available right next to the sink.
PS: The device is actually as high and only slightly narrower than a coffee machine.
