I bought this baby monitor for our newborn. Operation is simple, the connection between parent and baby unit works flawlessly. In and around our house, we operate the machine in Eco mode. Over longer distances, we have not tried it yet. As others write reviews here, the speaker on the parent unit is not very loud even at maximum volume. While it is transmitted every sound of the child, but with quiet sounds and a slightly louder surroundings (animated conversation, television ...) you have to have something to listen to them mitzukriegen. At the latest when our baby actually complains, but we hear it, it does not have to shout loudly. And in quiet surroundings you get every damn thing with the child, if you want (maximum sensitivity of the microphone set). In principle, therefore, a good device - BUT as others describe, the parent unit has been with us several times simply shut down without warning. This is of course not for a baby monitor. I have complained about the device to Philips and receive a replacement device. This has so far had no dropouts, but is also only a few weeks in operation. If even here a sudden shutdown occur, I will return the device and buy another baby monitor. UPDATE: Also, the replacement device has now turned several times without warning. It can then also not just turn it on again, only if it is connected to the power supply. And after I once ran out of the garden into the house to make sure me that our child will not panic the lungs out shouting for half an hour (luckily it was sleeping peacefully), the instrument returns. Thanks to Amazon, the return is not a problem even for one year after purchase.
