Some reviews on Faith and I wonder if the summary has not been read, or what was expected based on this. I myself have therefore also borrowed the film only after consideration and with skepticism. However, the plot sounded to me then but interesting that I was curious, and prepared for eventual relegious Mummenschanz.

In this case, the disappointment is with me rather that the really interesting aspects of such a scenario are almost not told, but be limited primarily to the action on the plane. Rather, it acts as the background story of an air disaster film.
We managed the presentation of the helpless, ruined panicked passengers that all possible abstruse theories think up to capture the unexplainable in itself.
On the ground are rudderless at once moving cars and causing accidents, airplanes without pilots down from the sky, people running in panic apart, looking for their relatives, looting and crime rampant. This is partly succeeded but also partly implemented absolutely disastrous. So Chloe passes through the city, a long time after the effect, and yet hurtling a runaway bus - long after the effect - at a time over the guardrail. The roads are sometimes very tidy, chaos no trace, crossing a bridge the traffic flowing as normal, as if nothing had happened. During the approach shows a panorama of the city intact backlit, in a subsequent scene sees the panorama of a hard hit, burning city. The world seems depopulated in any way, on the contrary, even the flyer is still good "fully booked".
The really interesting scenario in which a society exists for such a catastrophe continues, the film shows not at all.
The effects are mostly passable, but some cheap and worst (especially the emergency landing). The actors perform solidly, but not outstanding, the dialogues are partly wooden, but perhaps this is also due to the synchronization.
Broadly speaking, the story - apart from any religious aspect - a lot of potential that has been simply not used! Since I do not know the novels, I do not know how it is received thereon, the film is almost totally failed in this respect for me.
