I have this router initially rated with 5 stars, but this review deleted again and apologize to everyone who possibly also based on my review when choosing a router. So far I had no problems with TP-Link, but this device with its mistakes and questionable Support induce me to steer clear of TP-Link in the future. The router was purchased in late November an old D-Link to replace 524 who had always worked well but just a little slow. Operating with a KabelBW modem. The TP-Link functioned at first actually quite good. The router menu is not the nicest, but functional and I am familiar with network setup quite good (had earlier LAN parties organized with 150 participants and eingerichet the network for ...). What was a pity that there is no night service and also the transmission power groove on Low, Middle and High can be set. Also, the router managed seltenst more than 54Mbit, 60-70Mbit were the performance. So far everything still OK for the price and justified. The problems began but then gradually and irregularly. 1 floor above normal 2-3 bar reception, from time to time but 1 or no. Either plan the connection altogether, or it leveled off at a 1Mbit what in practice was unusable as constantly crashes occurred when loading a page or at Downloads. 2-3 meters from the router removes intervening with another device without walls "only" around 60Mbit / s, permanently cancel downloads - but still not a complete loss of signal. The same game with different phones and tablets: At places in the house, where you most of the time has good reception disconnects completely gone whim. A reboot or a complete restart by disconnecting the power supply usually not always brought Remedy, however. Even if the performance was broke so massive the router menu can not be called or it took forever to open in a little more. Of course, all settings have been tried as well as factory reset performed. No matter what standard, what bandwidth or which radio range or channel - everything always the same tragedy. The launch was then Christmas when the whole family was there, and in the meantime 3 laptops, tablets and 3 to 5-6 Smartphones have connected. Even if only one device was used as the shouting was great, since virtually no device was properly utilized and constantly appeared crashes or delays, or reception was gone. Then contacted the support which also responded adequately fast. So I then individually allowed to test the device with the router showed the problems with all devices. The devices invariably all work in tens of other networks without any problems. Here are a few excerpts from the conversation with the support: - Your problem sounds very much as be a device on the network for this very responsible crashes - There is this extremely much reading, for example, there was a giant meltdown at Apple that would have taken care of the tstorm Ipad3 almost a S ***, since the tablet with no known to me router actually works has - In my opinion, it should be possible the problem-causing device (I assume from currently) to locate - Since tablets are usually not updated because Google publishes only direct updates to their own devices, the manufacturer is here in the Bring guilt, because eventually caused a chip which is otherwise compatible in the latest version, in the outdated version error - Since a router can only be as current as the most recent version (I hope you understand the irony that I want to show here), it's exactly the same problem - ... That may be a problem with Airplay / Bonjour / Miracast or one of those other annoying protocols solves ... This disabling is partly also a solution, as it is not necessarily required. But since not all devices can I have this set up this theory, I hope you can now understand my thought process.
Sorry, but if any device has problems with the router, then the solution is not simply disable any protocols (which I do not use one way or another and which are not active). If the staff was nice, so I want to hear no views on other devices or protocols. Even sophisticated thought processes and theories interested me less if my device is not working. Based on the statements of support problems with all newer devices that have been launched on the market years after the last firmware update of the router would have my ancient D-Link yes, must have. The most I have already described the support, but apparently I was not understood here. Bring me after 2 weeks not - unit returns now.
