First, the positive characteristics of the device:
- The reader is very easy
- The display has a pleasant contrast
Unfortunately, this ends the outstanding features of the PRS-T2, because otherwise you can and the PRS-T2 nothing more than a simple eBook reader with which you can read eBooks of different formats, like the devices of competitors.
Now the negatives, unfortunately:
- Compared to its predecessor the Sony PRS-T1 has the headphone jack and MP3 function simply eliminated. Pity! After all, just on vacation, this function, reading and music would be heard, very beautiful.
- The feel of the PRS-T2 recalls, at least in the black version, very close to the much cheaper products Mitanbieter.
- While the control buttons come with their figurative imprinting send therefore, but crack questionable at each actuation, so that one is happy to primarily use the touch display.
Finally: Two months after buying the unit (the unit was from day one in a fixed sleeve), the device showed an image defect in the upper left corner. A restart attempt failed and the display no longer responded. Sony closed on the grounds the display was, after a mechanical load (which never existed), the warranty.
The repair to 154, - cost and the return of the "certified" device would be at around 40, -.
Conclusion: As long as the reader he is working an acceptable, albeit for the range of functions quite expensive, eBook.
If a defect occurs buys you had better equal a new one ... whether Sony should rethink this.
