This cable is available to allow "to connect a device or SATA external enclosure (eSATA) to a host computer via USB 3.0." There is no mention of a single type of housing / device to use. In loccurrence is a cable for connecting hard disks, and hard disks only! Do not expect to connect an eSATA device type burner CD / DVD / bluray, the protocol used by this type of device is incompatible with this cable. I find this particularly damaging as it is not specified in the product description as it induces the consumer into error and gave me the answer that the manufacturer about that breathed bad faith. (Note the compatibility of a product with what it is supposed to connect to a description seems to me to be essential ...) Fortunately, Amazon has been exemplary for processing the return and refund of my order. So 5 stars for Amazon, and one just for this cable, because it is not possible to put 0.
