Incredibly cheap - Brother HP

I had always only devices from HP, but since my father and my brother said shared common before that Brother multifunction device my printer, the printing costs increased due to the expensive ink cartridges (to get only slightly more favorable than were Refill) soon became unbearable. When searching for a new device was therefore the main criterion: Low follow-up costs.
Now if you do not want to switch directly to laser printer, leads in inkjet printers no alternative to Brother over, the, waived the only manufacturer of home-based inkjet printers, to my knowledge on such crap as chip in the cartridge and also the print head in the printer instead integrated in the cartridge, so the cartridge can be had as a refill for less than a Eurone per piece! And even if the devices are inherently more expensive to buy than the example of HP, Canon and Lexmark, as counts itself very soon by the low cost of printing.

I have the MFC-5890CN connected via LAN to my Fritz! Box, thus pursuing him as a network printer in a central location in our house, so that it is easily accessible for everyone. We have also already benefited already from the first not purchase relevant for me functions that the device A3 can print and an ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) features, which allows equal to a stack of sheets in one go via the scanner pull without having to add thereto something. I have the fax function is not yet set up and used.
But I am particularly pleased that the favorable Refills work so well and long. The print quality is absolutely satisfactory. It is remarkable that Brother in the "Normal" setting uses less ink to print than my old HP. This affects the print image slightly "thin", it is but also uses less ink and dries faster, which makes the smearing his fingers into a rarity.
The printer is always at 12 noon clock automatically by a short cleaning operation, the well designed to prevent the drying of the print heads, yet one of the color cartridges and the black cartridge is once dry after one month of inactivity. After about 4-5 cleaning cycles but was again everything "flushed" and since there were no more problems.

Even though I am very happy with the unit so the whole, there is still a downer: I often long for an automatic duplex printing function. Because the manual duplex printing is the Brother more than inconvenient: First, because we for every time has to pull out the paper tray to load the already printed on one side sides again, partly because the printer driver is not an option for manual duplex providing pressure and for some reason enormous problems with the function "only (un) just pages print" is: The printer does every leaf, waits 20 seconds, then begins printing, very strange and above all time-consuming behavior. Fortunately, I can adjust (eg Office or PDF Reader), this function in most cases about the software, from which I want to print instead, so that the printing fix goes through the printer driver even when performing manual duplex vonstatten.

That reminds me the hassle duplex printing should have been clear at the outset but otherwise I would not find fault with the device, I forgive 5 Stars.
