To pad machines have to believe I no longer say much these days - you just have to mention Senseo and everyone knows what is meant.
Advantage of pad machines is the rapidity with which the coffee is ready for consumption and the low price per cup of coffee compared to eg capsule machines.
# First Impression
This is already the third Senseo Senseo that I can call my own, and I am pleased with the direction in which Philips is the Senseo.
The machine looks very chic and modern and feels overall very high quality of (more on that later).
# The Design
Looking back at the older models of Philips Senseo, so it is clear that Philips does not sit still, but constantly honing on its design and comes up with new innovations. The like of course!
What's new? I see here the new Senseo Twist with the Senseo Latte, which has been brewed me my coffee.
The opening to the coffee pad insert was revised and acts much more robust and trustworthy than the old version of plastic through the use of metal.
It became clear also improves the adjustable coffee spout to accommodate these large at different cups or mugs. While still had to be adjusted with difficulty for the cup of the storage space at the old Senseo, can comfortably run the high and be adjusted down (eg coffee machine like the Miele) and can complete the drip tray to be removed, so that really large cups place among the have outlet. Very elegant solution!
The water tank is not difficult to see placed behind the machine, but are on the side of the machine and allows a better insight on the fill level of the tank and changing and filling easier.
# The touch display
Philips is particularly proud of its innovative touch display. There are no buttons with tactile feedback but everything works via touch.
Both in the off and on-state it looks very pretty.
Is the machine so the touch zones on red light pleasant and the service is absolutely intuitive.
The power button is white as a symbol on the machine marked and when the machine is on, is located behind the symbol a bright red dot. Unfortunately, the white power symbol is not completely centered in the red dot. This is unfortunately struck me uncomfortable at the beginning and bothers me every time you turn the machine. Even if it's just a small detail and really is not that important, so I feel it but as disturbing because it does not fit to the rest of the high-quality processing of the machine.
# Flavor and Brita filters
As the coffee finally taste depends on many factors and at a plurality of possible settings.
In order to reach the optimal result, you need to have some tinkering and experimenting.
This depends by the chosen coffee pad and the selected amount of water.
When the amount of water there is to choose from a small, strong coffee or a large, mild coffee. The novelty is that you can save his preferred amount of water and thus the intensity of coffee through the coffee strengths memo function. This feature I really like!
Also new is the integration of a Brita Maxtra filter in the water tank, the lime and impurities filters out.
Subjectively, I have a feeling that the coffee thus gentler tastes.
# Cleaning
As with the previous model, the cleaning is very simple: all removable parts can be cleaned easily in a dishwasher.
At the end of the day or after the Senseo an extended period was not used to simply flush the machine with hot water once, by simply a coffee for two cups cooking only without a pad insert.
Compared with the Senseo Latte
The clearest difference to the Senseo Latte is natural that the new Senseo Twist has no dairy unit and thus produce no milk foam.
However, this feature I find very awkward at the Senseo Latte and have it used very rarely in everyday life. I think that this is also the experience of Philips and they have therefore dispensed with the integration of a dairy unit.
Otherwise, the Senseo Latte be missing the new innovations such as the adjustable coffee spout, the touch display and the integrated Brita filter.
Conclusion #
Senseo there are now 10 years on the German market and in my opinion Philips has done a good job in the new generation, the Senseo Twist.
Both the design and the new features and enhancements show that Philips is to bring a decent product on the market hard and has understood what is important in the Senseo: to brew good coffee quickly and without losing sight of the individuality.
I am very satisfied with the extent of the Senseo Twist.
Have fun while drinking coffee.
