Innovative, durable and surprisingly hochqalitativ!

Looking for a hochqalitativen compact camera that you can take with you on trips, without being somehow a hindrance, I've tried several, quite well-known cameras. All with (for compact cameras) rather large CMOS sensor 1 / 1.7 ", a good brightness, a good wide-angle and a useful zoom range, and - they should really still be compact, but not tiny and fiddly to use.

The reason why I simply "overlooked" this N100, was the description that has been dominated by the innovations of this camera:
-Two Lenses, the second is directed backwards, taking the photographer and binds (if you want) the photographer Portrait as a small image in four possible and selectable positions (including the size of this little picture can be selected).
- A film diary can be created .....
- If you want it, and it ceases to generate the camera after shooting a subject independently and at random six creative images of subjects (sometimes really fun and amazing ...)
- The camera can put together a slide show and they spend a Small Movie by different, previously defined criteria from the images.
- And so on .....

"Everything nice gimmicks for the young generation", I thought, I indeed belong to the older generation and for several decades Scan with evolving Camera generations semiprofessional applications.

By chance, I then came across a camera test of the N100 as I looked around again at various test sites. I was taken aback, because I could not believe it, that the image quality of the N100 was almost rated a par with the G15 / G16. Other properties (zBGeschwindigkeit and the like) have been praised.

To make it short: I have acquired a good piece and tested (in accordance with my years of experience) in all kinds of situations.

The first thing I noticed was a lightweight, it is not, this N100. Just under 300g (ready with battery), but still much more compact and lighter than my estimated G15. Material and workmanship but equally high-quality and robust, as in the past G-models. These are a "tangible" piece camera, no tiny fiddly "Inside-Cam" is lost in my hand. Of course it's a matter of taste, every prospective for this camera must judge for yourself.
The housing surface is rough rough and easily manageable set of control buttons facilitate quick access.
Even the menu is logical and manageable put together so that you can handle so intuitively, actually without much-needed look into (Pdf) manual. (Still, you will find it surely for tips.)

And now to the criterion that is important to me now times on the acquisition of a camera: The picture quality must be high! And that is actually N100 at this. I was really surprised, absolutely for a compact "class".
I shoot mostly in P mode, occasionally, in extreme situations where it must really sometimes quite go very quickly, sometimes in automatic mode, where the camera from tens Situations parameters themselves out looking for the best settings. Here I sometimes get results in a picture quality that can not be achieved in most other compact in Auto mode.

As I said, in the program mode (P), with which I mostly take pictures, you can as usual change several settings to your preference. I have as contrast, sharpness and color saturation slightly raised.
The usual (semi-) manual programs A, S and M can be found at the N100 NOT! And this is usually expressed criticism of this camera, but this really is incomprehensible to me. Because if you acquire this camera, so one has done before but knowledgeable about the relevant data (the latest at a purchase advice in photo shops or on the relevant website). I can but in reviews and in certain test portals not complain that this camera something "missing" when you can see in the descriptions of the camera but that this is not part of the scope of the camera! (That is, to say "stupid" to say so, as if you complained to the acquisition of a "tricycle" that the fourth wheel so lacking ..... (;-))

The N100 is, as can be seen from the above description of gimmicks designed also interesting for the young generation, to sacrifice without resorting to a high quality picture. And what's wrong with that? Be's be honest, dear readers, the most compact camera users have on their device the A, S and M - modes but only rarely (if ever) used. And if these camera users are consistently, so they resort to this N100 certainly excited.

What should be mentioned? That this camera dominated the NFC and the WiFi capabilities, of course. Young people (honestly, I also) want fast times but the image results on Tablet (c) transferred to admire and perform. Why not? Is it great, but you would be!
Who does not need enjoys simply at the first-class image quality.

By the way: Many of the current high-end compact, the offer anyway, only three to five times zoom, who at the longest focal length mild to striking difficulty focusing, especially in low-light conditions. Even then, these telephoto shots have often an easy "veil stick" expression you can edit with a good image editing program course.
This N100 delivers sharper telephoto shots, and even in the field ZoomPlus (to 10 times) in spite of the necessary "light" digital zoom still surprisingly clear image results reached (usually better than a picture detail magnification of an image with 5x optical -Zoom).
Of course, this is also a success of the obviously excellent functioning image stabilizer. Low Light shooting 1/13 or 1/8 sec. - No problem, the stabilizer keeps!

And one more thing: the battery! He is for me the real reason for rejoicing - and also for real anger!
Joy and gladness, because this Canon Battery NB-12L (which is also used in the G1 X Mark II) a real super powerhouse (1910 mAh). Other high-end compact have long been the third, fourth "recharging" and the Canon N100 keeps with this powerhouse, and holds, and still holds the first "charge"!
Nevertheless, like other of my reviews can be seen, I am often on long, extensive travels on the road, and that I need for safety's sake (you never know if a proper "outlet" for the charger is available), two additional batteries for reserve ,
And so I am now landed the real reason for my anger: The NB-12L is not (yet) offered brands conveniently proven Patona series or of other good "NoName". One is simply forced to buy the original battery by Canon. And: He's ridiculously expensive !!! Of course, as I said, in the performance he is absolute top, but unfortunately the price too!
However, this is not an argument, in the evaluation of this camera one point (star) deducted, in this respect it would have a valuation portal for business conduct of the manufacturers give. Here I can see striking parallels with the printer business of these companies: printers dirt cheap, but the matching cartridges cost a Sister ....- money! Should this business practice now hold on the camera market catchment? I hope not!

The N100 itself, what is actually going on here, get out of me real five star!
