Since I have been looking forward to the new toy and just a downpour is coming up, I wanted to set up the Rain Gauge equal! A look at the manual tells me that I should stay away from 3m houses and trees and 0,5-1,5m should remain above the ground! Since the measured water must run out below, should be covered when not mounting the ground. On the bottom there is a tripod compatible internal thread ... very nice ... but ... in a box there is no counterpart with spit place for setting up ... stupid ... Amazon wanted skewer with tripod screw and not found yet ... stupid ... discarded formation with teuerem Fotstativ because in the garden soil easily suffers ... provisiorische fixing small "Gorilla Tripod" on the balcony railing ... distances not optimal ... Half joy unnecessarily away!
In the end I then an inexpensive stand clamp mounted on a skewer garden ... beautiful is not. For a little more money I would have liked a plastic or aluminum scharz Erdpieß with matching screw and 1m length, consisting for the packet size can be screwed parts ...
Measurement of rain works via a rocker who fills and empties in exchange. The rocking motion is a pulse which then measures the amount of rain. Drizzle remains at low levels in the hopper and evaporates without measurement. Only when enough droplets combine and flow into the center is triggered measurement.
If you want to move the unit the same, you make time in order to worry about!

Pluviometry going well as expected.
Here I remembered on / which there is no information about whether the rain gauge should remain in freezing temperatures outside, even if it then anyway can not measure anything. Ifs then runs completely stupid freeze below the small slots to and after the interior is fully in the sun from above .... I Try it and report next spring. For permanent wear out and in one way or another I have no desire.

I have the equipment but purely brought over the winter, since the middle of March it measures again and tolerates slight frost.
The batteries still hold from the very first start of the device. Once a year, battery replacement would be ok.
