At the beginning it happened in quick succession - in 2001 the Mega Drive "No Name Face", one year later the also very good disc "Stanley Climbfall". Time for a creative break of three years before album # 3 comes on the market. Because of course increases the pressure of expectations. And unfortunately the time has let one drawback - the cavalier songwriting is gone, the pressure to repeat the success necessarily, suggests through. Therefore, the new record is probably become quite mainstream-heavy, more lumbering ballads, less spontaneous Rock Sound. No question, Lifehouse is an outstanding band, but somehow lacking in many songs that certain something. The exception is sure # 3-5, reminiscent of her songwriting of days gone by, to "The End has only begun", what the mood forth repeatedly to "Losing My Religion" reminds me, which at that time were known REM. Maybe you just have to accept it and that one writes songs like "Sick Cycle Carousel" (of me still running up and down) or "Trying" only once. The complete work is solid in any case, the purchase I have no regrets, but I'm just even better to expect from the band. It is regrettable that such a good song like "Butterfly", probably from the "No Name Face" phase comes from the sound forth, made it only as a B-side to the single "You and Me".
