How otherwise to expect from the recent soundtracks of Final Fantasy series, there is again delicious sound that would make even many a movie soundtrack honor. The compositions of Nobuo Uematsu is as usual high quality that set standards for the games genre. But the tracks that do not originate from the "master" spring impress. So z. B. the brutal hardcore piece "Otherworld" which, although falling from the usual of other FF-slices frame, however, fits into play on the eye for my taste like chalk and cheese and fresh air blows into the acoustics. It is certainly a matter of taste whether those pieces that differ somewhat from the traditional Final Fantasy Sound line, like it or not. But with the abundance of tracks that present the 4 pieces of silver, many pieces can also be found in the old style, which can be any nostalgic heart beat faster. The music is extremely varied, already mentioned by tranquil melodies over spherical soundscapes and orchestral bombast way to rockier sound. And of course, should not be missed another variation of the already classic Chocobo theme. It is gratifying, since no one probably will again talk that the successful compositions come across in successful sound technical quality and not sound like in older FF OSTs z. T. for "video game". Already in FF VIII orchestral instrumentation was already increasingly used and in FF IX it was then sounded technically arrived in the present. Not that the compositions of the previous albums would not have been good, but - we have to be quite honest - the right listening experience you have but then only with a technically high-quality sound, and is at FF X, as before in FF IX, simply by finest. This 4-CD Box leads everyone who while playing the game in the wake of the global Spira has let rip, there again and the images from memory to come back up. But even those who has not yet had the benefit of the game, can look forward to a fantastic acoustic mountain ride. Because of its ultimate scope is this box - at least for fans - certainly preferable to other publications on single or double CDs. So slap them Headphones and travel!
