This book, which has given rise to much comment at its outlet, is quite interesting. It describes in an ironic and satirical way the operation of a local authority, given by a young out of graduate training. This young woman, obviously having a high opinion of herself and capabilities provided with idealistic illusions, lies for the first time confronted with low material contingencies of the world of work: the need to make do with the means at hand ambitious projects are finally being severely stretched complex relationships between colleagues, etc. Very acidic, this book nevertheless has the great advantage to reflect on the functioning of any community because it could apply to many other areas.
