A little skeptical I was when I heaved the first weighty acting device from the package on the weekend, but then I realized that one should not always go to the first impression, because Tefal has here really found a good solution for how to ironing can simplify so that you would not always pushes until the last evening hours in front of him.
The following advantages are to me already noticed within a few use transitions:
+ Because the water tank is not placed on the iron itself, but on the base station, the iron is relatively easy and does not tire the hand so quickly. Then there is the further advantage that there is no water splashes on the clothes, because the steam is brought by pressing a button through the cable into the iron.
+ The iron is even without station but quite shaky, so that I would not leave it on the ironing board. However, the base station has a secure footing, and since the cable (including the steam line), which connects the station with the iron, around 160cm long, one has during ironing and the necessary freedom of action, and it can be convenient during working in the station Stop. This is me not even noticed that the cord of the iron in the way would be - perhaps is a lefty but disagree about this. It makes sense to put the station on a firm surface such as a table, as this can be quite difficult if the tank has been filled with water.
+ Ironing is pronounced very painless and delivers to excellent results. Even heavy cotton tablecloths from the inexhaustible stocks my late grandmother can be easily and neatly flatten, so that they no longer have to be brought to the ironer from home.
+ The device is also suitable for vertical Aufdämpfen.
+ The built-in Kalkkollektor boiler can be easily removed if necessary, rinse and re-insert. Here no descaler or anything else must be purchased separately.
+ When transporting the iron with a safety bar is reliably locked at the station.
+ A clearly written manual, you should have read before using the appliance, however (approximately 6 pages per language) leads unerringly into the handling of the steam generator.
The following aspects are neither positive nor negative to assess:
0 As noted in the instruction manual is to list a somewhat unpleasant smell during the first (and even second) use of the steam generator. This is, however, gradually weakened and then stops altogether.
0 The key is generated with the steam, can not lock up, so you have to hold it down possibly longer, you want to produce a lot of steam.
0 The electric pump which pumps water into the water tank and is activated from time to time when steam-ironing is a little noisy. However, not so much that one would need earmuffs. But this is a bit of getting used to.
Only one aspect was not so like:
- Even if the manual shows how to the cable stowed away, I felt this as a huge Pfriemelei.
In summary, that the Tefal GV8800 steam generator is a very efficient and easy to use device is, I can sincerely friend, however.
