I use an AVM Fritz! Box 7270 and an ACER Aspire 8942G LapTop over WiFi, so far with a (built-in) Atheros WiFi card AR5B93. The Connection, Laptop (2m) for 7270 to the Internet broke off sometimes although there was still a radio link - I am not come behind to what it was .... In my area, I have a lot of WLANs in the 2.4 GHz band - since my 7270 both bands can and I'm a techie, I wanted to move in the 5GHz band. Delivery was quick. In the Fritz box before setting to: "Allow all new WLAN devices" undbedingt adjust. Installation as in the contributions described above. The new board is recognized readily - but a LAN cable but had placed the Fritz box for safety. Then cable away - then Connection to the new Intel card with 117 Mbits. Switching the FritzBox to 5 GHz - the connection to the laptop will be briefly interrupted and then re-connect to the 5GHz band - changing the tapes not a problem. Another new feature is the comparison with the Atheros card: the orange LED in the WLAN button in the right panel of the laptop was active WLAN always. With the Intel card 'flashed' the LED when data between Box and laptop be replaced. Manual on / off using the button as before.
