Ethernet cable would have been cheap for the living room cabling, reliable but ugly.
So Powerline tasted. And I must say it has works! Right away. Both devices plugged in, the associated one with a gigabit switch, the other connected to the HiFi system with the various devices. Connection was at first, streaming, AirPlay, etc. everything is working properly. And factory direct encrypted. The software shows me almost 200 Mbit / s - no idea whether this is a realistic value.
Decisive for me was that a device has the same integrated a switch and I so can connect up to three units without even having to cultivate a separate switch with power supply and even more clutter.
Excellent!
One point deduction is available for the ugly Control Center software. On OS X it is distributed in the system from 1000 individual parts which an installer. Probably the Adobe Air is owed. I then only the Windows version (in VMware, so I can make a rollback quickly after use) tried, which is in any case programmed with Adobe Air. And terribly colorful and not very practical. A huge window where you can not do much in the end. These then must one more time the computer restarts and the Air was in- stalled are equal updated again. Brr, please next time better software. This disturbs the otherwise good impression immensely and makes good hardware look cheap.
