Especially characteristic of Beatsteaks albums I consider the opener ... there are the very punky songs like Unminded, Panic or Not Ready to Rock ... or even a little less punk, but no less adrenaline-fueled songs Big Attack or As I Please - No one would deny that these songs (with) are among the best of Beatsteaks! Invite you to continue to listen to the album and abzuspasten - who has seen the Beatsteaks ever live will be able to sympathize with this feeling.
Well ... and what we have on Boombox? A piece called "Fix it", what comes across a whole but VERY quiet ... Too bad, but you do not always do it all "equal" yes, you might say.
This is followed by "Milk & Honey" ... also rather "calm" - one or the other might say "radio-compatible", as the entry-single of the last album "Jane became insane" ... so better? No way !! ... "idea loser" and "boring" it is true probably. Milk & Honey has been proven, however, after all, live - the fans feel the song and you can make good to party.
Well, I do not want to take each song apart now! But overall, mainly as a longtime fan of Beatsteaks, I have to say that I regret it almost too bought this album. I've really always resorted to blind the albums of Beatsteaks - I'm considering for this gaffe (my opinion) twice now.
I hope that they will approach the next attempt again towards smacksmash or Limbo Messiah ... That quite well to remind would be on albums like Launched or 48/49 I think too much to ask ... and I think would alienate as many fans, as Boombox did now.
Nevertheless - one of the best live bands in the world!
