From the feel, I would say it like this: It's not a luxury hotel insects. However one can also say that for the "perfectly crafted insect hotels in different price ranges would be .. You can see some holes still see the remains of ausbohrens and also the timber is not working dibasic. But when you see it in terms of price-performance .. is it for me in spite of all a very good Insektenhotel You have to see the value differently Each insect hotel is due to the filling always unique and I dare to say spontaneously - A wasp would not complain that a slight Bohrausbruch still at Loch could hang.
The house has a multi-storey building. Downstairs are pine cones, then follow drilled bamboo poles and a field for butterflies. On the second floor are then again differently thick branches with holes at the top and there are pieces of wood that are protected just like the pine cones with a coarse metal mesh front from falling out. By chance, fit the square where the hotel is hung just with the recommendations how to hang such a hotel. Namely, in the south with plenty of sun. But we were doing something you should not. We had them treated at the edge with a (water-soluble) glaze although it deter insects or should be harmful to them.
But far from it. Schnon after 2 months several holes had been "blocked" in the bamboo sticks. This is a sign that have taken root there insects. What a surprise! In run time, these holes were opened and new bamboo sticks were clogged again. So it went with the other places of the hotel.
My Conclusion:
In price / performance range almost can not be beat. It's a real eye-catcher in the garden and a second advantage is really evolving to and to serve as a home for insects. So hit two birds with one stone (oh what a pun here)
