Pokemon Sapphire Alpha sounds like a wet dream for everyone - like me - who at that time owned Pokemon Sapphire. I have a 2DS with this game in mind and I've worried for days on "the good old days" recalls.
First of all the (real) positive: The presentation is knotless! The fights look fabulous, everything seems harmonious and well done. Although the game can at any time via the thin plot or be outdated Pokemon design disguise (collective 8 medals and challenge the top 4 out) but any real recurring veteran will anyway be sharp only on 2 things: fill Pokedex and online battles and that really make fun.
What is not fun, is absolutely pappige difficulty as the game progresses in fighting against the AI. Of course, the game is suitable for children but we have then also played heavier Games! I have my team changed several times, exhibited the Exp divider and anyway I was too strong and überlevelt whenever I reached an arena. This caused unfortunately that I got into a dreary rut while playing and could not enjoy the complete game time as I would have liked. I hardly connect to my team up, the experience points en mas for absolute nothings bagged and at some point I just wanted to get the complete Dex to start with the right collection. It's a shame and I take that Game Freak really bad. For players who would want a "challenge" you can insert a Half-Exp-fashion at least, which can be switched on and off at will. A Nuzelock however, is not an argument. Even hard to make my game I think to defend a company for no reason, the raking are black with this item money to them. I'd like to run my favorite team in the fight and play the game the way it is intended and werdem thereby also required and not obtained here unfortunately.
Another (minor) drawback is the still easily broken random system that artificially something to raise the level of difficulty (as ever), where the team of Gamefreak apparently is meant to blind that just the masses of experience gains stupid AI opponents make everything too easy. So it is clearly (and noticeably) more often affected by status changes as the AI opponents and is also significantly more likely to "Disabled" by them. This makes the game not broken, but is a bit annoying because it is an unfair system to make a bit more challenging to an otherwise almost "too fair" game ... unfortunately the game by not demanding but just a bit frustrating.
Conclusion:
This match has not "broken" or not playable, it's actually quite nice and wakes Sammelwahn. Who requires absolutely no challenge that will not be disappointed and experienced some great 3D scenes. Those who want a real challenge, can remain fortunately the 2DS. I am glad that there are games like Bravely Default and Fire Emblem with adjustable levels of difficulty on the handheld. Had I the ONLY part taken for Pokemon, I was a little disappointed now. So I'm just going to use the game only to fill the Onlinedex and for online battles. This is in my opinion good 3 star value.
