I admit: Andrea Zani was not my idea, until I heard a piece of it in cultural radio. For this I must also confess that Cello is not exactly my instrument. So the purchase of the same 12 cello concertos was perhaps a bit daring. Probably, but I have not regretted a single second. The soloist Martin Rummel and the Cologne Academy under the direction of Michael Alexander Willens are shiny and complement each other wonderfully. You know each of the Concertos to give its own personality and to let become a listening pleasure. Just a bit of advice: 12 cello concertos at a time are too much of a good thing; you can enjoy it better if you put breaks in between or something else is listening.
