Here the plus and minus of the device:
+ Really relatively quiet compared (important: regular descaling!)
+ Great design, the LEDs one looks at first fascinated the water during cooking to
+ Rapid heating, felt just as fast as the old WK with the same power (who had not concealed heating element)
+ Relatively cheap
- Too quickly pouring the water with the lid closed lid pladdert uncontrollably through the area, so earlier on!
- On / off switch is very fragile
- Closing mechanism cover: At first I thought it is a defect. The lid held only with great effort when pressing on the Ausgussseite. At some point I realized that it closes relatively easily when pressed with the thumb of the holding hand on the handle side of the lid, great! :-)
- If you use the automatic switch-off, in no more water than to (felt low) maximum mark must be filled, otherwise the water will boil over! Of course, more, only the switch must then be activated in time is ...
- That's all still manageable if it were not for the smell. Even after several weeks of use, the heated water smells strongly of chemicals.
The cause is probably the seal between the glass container and the lower part of metal. The effect is heightened when the hot water is a long time in the digester, so that To Drain him more quickly. I realize that a seal is required by the design of the stove. Whether this has to evaporate by the high temperature inevitably so, to my knowledge, not to mention the toxicity of the substances released completely withdraws.
Fact: If the water smells, substances dissolved therein. Consider this before you At length to this kettle ...
[EDIT 04/09/2013] After more than 6 weeks of operation began recently after turning suddenly an LED to flicker. Meanwhile, these works no longer. A sad example of planned obsolescence. Billigstelektronik and / or poorly finished - I values from 1 star.
[EDIT 09/12/2013] Now that two other LEDs are still failed, I have the kettle screwed times: All LEDs hanging in series only with a series resistor directly to the mains voltage. Anyone with a little bit familiar with electronics knows that the operation without protective diode is not exactly conducive to the life of the LEDs. The additional component would cost 5 cents ... I repeat, that is planned obsolescence. Stay away from the kettle!
