1. Connect the NAS Server necessarily (!!) First to the computer and configure (see 2.)
2. that in almost all cases, when using a router is configured: in DN 7023 DHCP is essential to disable it and IP addressing to "Automatic" to leave (!)! Further directories on the disk (USB Stick, Hard Disk.) Are to be applied under the "public", otherwise you see nothing in Windows Explorer. If all users can access the network in the public directory, as is the already established "guest" access right, a password is not required - if necessary is this wars but very easy einzurichten.Da in DN 7023 under the configuration item already - take 2 Minutes.
(!) 3. Connect After Kofiguration the DN 7023 to the router and integrate the network drive (under My Computer, Tools, Map Network Drive). Changes not one of the basic configuration of the DN 7023 is to enter \\ storage \ public and the desired drive letter, for example, as proposed by XP. Voila - the drive appears in Explorer as a network drive.
Otherwise:
- Access to the NAS server at any time using the stored name of the storage medium (storage) - this can be changed (the name but do not forget this, otherwise no more access!)
Access via Browser [...]
- Change bulbs quite high, but not critical (a laptop power supply is still hot)
- Access via SAMBA, although minimalist, but perfectly adequate for me; Data throughput sufficient
- FAT 32 is mandatory in the formatting of the disk, no NTFS!
- Funny: you can also save files over 4GB, although under FAT 32 not really possible!
- The DN 7023 with me so far also forgets nothing ........
- Cheaper will not get you to a NAS server!
Negatives:
- The manual is a joke, with the abovementioned standard procedures, it should be but at 90% of users flaps (test with Netgear router family)
- No firmware update provided
- Has provided his computer in the network with static IPZS, so the above solution is not true - the DN 7023 then you have assigned a static IP get (IP must then be set to "manual" in the menu)
Good luck with it!
