Jack of all kitchens - and not for the faint ears!

I grew up with grandmas crank meat grinder, you had to screw it to the table top, where it is still slipped repeatedly. In times where there were no supermarkets with ready packed Hack goods, so a device was virtually present in every household.

While we get ready prepared almost everything today, the supply of electric meat grinders is still surprisingly large - that may be an indication that still is a lot at home itself (or again?). Under the four-number of devices the Moulinex ME6251 stands out quite clearly and I am glad that we were able to test it.

The device is characterized initially by its massive quality: the rugged plastic housing is processed very valuable, under a flap at the top will find at least some of the many accessories space. The main unit is made of solid cast aluminum and beautifully finished, the supplied three perforated discs are made of steel. The cable can be stowed on the underside of the device, so that they are not in moving furniture in the way.

Construction and assembly of the parts is simple and almost self-explanatory - the accompanying multilingual user manual is more hindrance than help - we found them confusing. We were also on the manufacturer's website in the hope of finding a little more detailed German version, but to press the device appeared not on there.

We cook a lot of Chinese ground beef specialties (mainly pork, lamb and - yes, you read that right - fish) and as you can only take directly from the butcher influence on the composition of the hacks else, we were glad to finally be able to even "mix" : a little more fat or prefer leaner meat - you can turn on all cog and conjure up the perfect blend itself. The unit also processed fish fillets, from which one can make then tasty fish balls.

With the mitgellieferten essays can also be almost all vegetables or cheese grate, chips or cut into slices - whether for pizza toppings, nice salads or homemade potato chips. Not tested, we have the "sausage function" - the device can also be produced sausage itself, a challenge that is yet to come, as well as the production of sprits.

After work, all parts are easy to clean under running water - the perforated discs are a bit tricky and you should not wait too long to get dry meat residues or the like, is also recommended for cleaning a good brush.

Somewhat surprised us the volume during operation: I have no instrument at hand, but the level is likely to loose go to the 90 decibels, ie in areas where you should wear ear protection already, if you're more exposed to such noise. For us, in any case of getting used to and so there is unfortunately a star deduction for a device that otherwise no ifs and buts all 5 stars deserved!
