Commemorations in January 2012 centered around the figure of Joan of Arc was certainly welcome. Thanks to them, some important books have been published and republished, emerging commonplace (and pitfalls) policies (usual). Three books are now essential to clearly identify the Maid of Orleans: the impeccable biography of Colette Beaune, the dictionary of historical orientation and Philippe Contamine this test as fair as deep Pauline Preval. The author traces the origins of the legend of the saint, by presenting and commenting on the words of his trial in Rouen. It illuminates the high, approaching the mystery of his faith, in a still sober and formal style. Perhaps the best introduction to the brilliant words, and always bearers of hope, of a woman who surpasses all men, and that neither the Church in his time or ours laity could reduce, or by fire or by sarcasm.
