I think (and similar electronic products) you should not write a few days after purchase reviews about external hard drives. I got me this hard drive in December 2006 bought on Amazon and was (of course) initially also completely satisfied. But after a few months suddenly the FP usually no longer recognized my notebook, the same on two different desktop PCs. From the "most" was a "forever". I have written in this regard and Amazon really have to praise the Amazon customer service times. Actually thought it would be merely 6 months warranty on electronics - no, much longer (I had the hard drive for more than six months). In one - comments received within a few hours after my request - mail (personal mail, no "standard response") was explained to me on (for an excuse for not more-functioning of the device) that I the FP easy unfree (ie should send costs from Amazon) at Amazon (Linz), the FP would be repaired or I would get a new device, or the full purchase price refunded to my account, if the appliance should no longer be available. So that was it - the FP was no longer repairable and no longer available at the time. I got my money back from Amazon, and. Without any problems and about nine months after the purchase I'm very happy with it, for me better than a replacement - no Trekstor FP would buy me more, because I really am not the only one with these problems.
Of course, the data on the submitted FP were gone - not important for me, because I had additionally gespeichtert on my laptop and desktop. For others, this may be a big problem, so you should IMHO just think carefully when buying external backup media, what you buy, and have come as other buyers with the device handle. A review of an external hard drive after a few days I think in any case for almost negligent.
Therefore: Top: the Amazon Customer Service Flop: The TrekStor DataStation maxi and - in my opinion - the opinion expressed by previous reviewers Rating
