With One Cold Winter's Night Kamelot released their second live album already, which they have managed to take a completely different song selection from the old hits. Now there is a recording of the concert on 11 February 2006 in Oslo. It was cold in fact that night; the fans waited in front of the Rockefeller Music Hall of ice and snow. The more you heated Kamelot as a compensation for the show that was interspersed this live recording with numerous guests.
With The Black Halo and Soul Society, the band starts the sold out concert. Brief welcome by Roy ago On the Edge of Paradise - but in Norwegian! Unfortunately, I will remain hidden, what Roy calls out his fellow countrymen as ...
It follows that between Roy and Thomas perfectly matched catchy Center of the Universe, which is detached from the classic Nights of Arabia; quiet, however it will be Abandoned.
Simone Simons of Dutch band Epica enters the stage of The Haunting. On the basis of jubilation, it seems that especially enjoy the male fans over the attractive eye candy. This is followed by another blast from the last studio album Moonlight and When the Lights are Down. Even the much-loved by fans 13 minute Elizabeth trilogy is no lack in this live compilation!
For the perfomance of March of Mephisto to Snowy Shaw joined on stage; Unfortunately Shagrath missing live for the voice of Mephisto.
Other guest musicians are producer Sascha Paeth on guitar, Mari Youngblood as Helena and Elisabeth Kjærnes.
Consistently amazing is the professionalism of Roy Khan's voice and at a live recording! This is largely unchanged from the studio recordings here is the advantage of his vocal studies clearly noticing. Especially at the beginning of the concert, it hardly seems to be differences between live version and the original. On the one hand, of course, a big plus, but I could thus listen to the album versions. So I just miss a few songs that live feeling, because the mixing of the songs is sometimes too perfect, hardly hear the fans or the applause seem to be unrealistic in cut in the songs.
Nevertheless Kamelot is a great 90-minute mix of numerous titles published in 2005, the Black Halo and classics succeeded therefore quite for while the Black Halo tour newly-acquired fans suitable! Better can really only be the DVD on which the live character Kamelot (Roys Performance, Thomas' guitar spectacle and denominated Drums Casey) certainly comes to better advantage and the versatile bonus material is a great delicacy.
