I was the Wicked Chili Beachbag thoroughly test and would like to talk about my experiences.
Delivered the Beachbag with a Quick Start Guide and a carrying strap with snap hook.
Purpose of the product is dust-proof and waterproof storage of objects (normally a smartphone).
The weight is only 46 grams with cord. Prima!
The Beachbag itself can absorb a large 5.7 inch Smartphones up (possibly even also 6 inches).
My 5.7 inch very big score 3 fits definitely in there, but I had to remove the protective covering used previously.
By IPX8 certification (protection class: Protection against continuous immersion) this Beachbag suitable for smaller dives. Wicked Chili calls in the product description as 3 meters maximum depth.
Since I am this statement waterproof standard course only once met a little suspicious and not equal to my precious Samsung Galaxy Note 3 wanted to sink into the happy hunting grounds, I have put to test my old Telekom Move and two paper handkerchiefs in the Beachbag.
For that I had to do was turn up the two thumbscrews, then open the Beachbag, insert the smart phone and the tissues and tighten the two screws.
The move is in the dry state more or less touchable, so the capacitive touch screen also works through the envelope. Although not as nice as without but it works!
One then wonders involuntarily, as in spite of this simple mechanism for water resistance should be guaranteed.
To test this, I then threw the Beachbag its contents simply brave in the bathtub and I am only a quarter of an hour came back later.
At the time my two children have pushed the bag in his own words umpteen times under water, floated, pushed back and forth, etc.
Conclusion: Both the Move and the two tissues have not gotten a trace of moisture!
To counter test I have now had the Beachbag its contents twice with in the shower and even here there were no problems with moisture penetration.
That's quite remarkable and has me frankly even somewhat surprised.
However, underwater or in outer much moisture as in the shower is the Move operation in the bag no longer possible, there probably is no longer functioning adequately by the waters of the charge transport of the touchscreen.
In the coming days we will visit with the family, a water park and there, the bag is again properly tested through its paces. We want there to make some underwater shots so that, after my elders would be unlikely.
This works because of the touch screen problem under water, of course only if you use the (hopefully existing) timer or continuous shooting mode smartphone, triggers so before the dive and then shoots the photos you want under water.
I will review again after that update and report on the result in the leisure pool.
As this Beachbag behaves in saltwater I can not judge also (yet), but will also be incorporated here my experiences at the next beach holiday.
Overall, I am far more than pleased with this Wicked Chili Beachbag and have thus an ideal Christmas gift for my older daughter found in the underwater shots just are very hip.
So I can save at least for a few months to buy the waterproof Sony Xperia Z3 Compact for them :-)
