Kelby Kelby or not? Kelby!

Yet remarkably clear and pedagogical work signed Scott Kelby, photographer and world renowned trainer. As for his books on Lightroom and Photoshop CS5, this is an exciting collection of "recipes" to scrupulously apply in order to obtain a desired result. This time, the presented instructions to make subtle photographic retouching, and thus successful.
Kelby admit from the outset a bias of speed and efficiency, the book aimed primarily for photographers and not professional retoucher likely to spend several days on a cliché.
In fact, everything has to be set - just about - in half an hour, and the author proposes in the relevant appendices workflows 5, 15 and 30 minutes ... depending on the subject being treated and the nature of the client.
As with any good recipe book, a full reading is not essential. You are supposed to scrounge the stuff that will be useful in individual cases: correction of skin impurities, improved look, remodeling a face, double chins mitigation, size sourcis, digital makeup, etc, etc.
Kelby even has the good taste to offer 4 methods, more or less complex, just to smooth the skin while avoiding giving it too artificial appearance. Everyone can choose according to their preferences.
I take a quick nod in passing to the translator who has rediscovered all appropriate technical references in French, avoiding (almost always) ambiguities. It has not been easy.
In short, here is a great book to keep handy when you need to prepare a portrait for a draw or an exhibition. Your model is Angelina Joly or your grandma, you will inevitably will draw material to the admiration of your family ... avoiding harsh criticism from those you may have (mis) photographed.
